Mindy Fan, Educator

I graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and hold a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. I joined the Northern Darebin Kindergarten Association (NDCKA) in 2011 as teacher/director at Gellibrand Crescent Kindergarten and held the role for one and a half years. Since 2014, I became the teacher/director at Blake Street Kindergarten. Prior to joining NDCKA, I worked in long day care and also part-time at a stand-alone kindergarten in Thornbury. Currently, I also work twice a week at Gellibrand Crescent Kindergarten as one of the educators.

I believe that each child is unique and learns at a different pace. It is important to work with the families to help children achieve their full potential and getting them ready for school. It has been my great pleasure getting to know so many beautiful families and their children, who are from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, along my teaching journey. It has also been very rewarding to witness the development and achievements of all the children.

I have two boys of my own. In my leisure time, I love cooking and baking at home. I have also incorporated my love of cooking into the kindergarten programs. I also enjoy travelling, watching movies and food programs on TV.
